Things to see and do - Hadrian's Wall, Northumberland

Explore the local attractions, including pretty Corbridge, Hadrian’s Wall & the Roman Forts, the stunning Northumberland National Park and dark sky reserve. We are surrounded by picturesque countryside and can direct you on beautiful walks right from the doorstep, as well as the best places to stop for a bite to eat or something to whet the appetite!

Corbridge

Whether you’re looking for a cozy cafe, a traditional pub, or fine dining, our local towns of Corbridge and Hexham have plenty to offer. With an abundance of delicious local produce, there really is something for every taste.

Just 3 miles away is Michelin starred Restaurant Pine, which offers an intimate dining experience in a converted cow barn.  The generous tasting menu utilises foraged ingredients from the Northumberland countryside and produce from the onsite kitchen garden.

For something a little more relaxed have a wander around Corbridge and grab a drink at the Pele, a fortified vicarage, converted into a cosy micro bar in the heart of the town. The Corbridge Larder is a must visit offering a wide range of local spirits and cheeses in its deli. Upstairs the cafe offers both breakfast or a leisurely lunch.

Hexham offers a wide range of resteraunts and cafes. Some of our favourites include Bouchon Bistro, Zyka (Indian), Cilantro or Vercelli followed by a drink at the Beaumont Hotel. Hexham also offers a lovely Farmers Market, held twice a month, showcasing some of the best local produce.

For some fantastic food head to The Feathers at Hedley on the Hill or The Duke of Wellington at Newton, both are award winning pubs which have a focus on local, seasonal dining.

Milky Way

Located as we are in the heart of the Northumberland International Dark Sky Park, our location offers guests privileged access to some of the clearest, most star-filled skies in England.

As twilight fades and darkness descends, the celestial display begins. From our location, you can marvel at the Milky Way stretching across the heavens like a river of light, spot distant planets, and perhaps catch a glimpse of the Northern Lights during winter months. The minimal light pollution around our B&B means you don’t have to venture far to experience this astronomical wonder – perfect for cosy evening stargazing sessions.

After an evening under the stars, return to your warm, comfortable room for a peaceful night’s sleep, followed by our hearty Northumberland breakfast the next morning.
